Simon Lau Memorial Match
Prior to the match Simon was remembered by his family, teams and supporters with applause that echoed around Honor Oak Park. At times champagne rugby bubbled to the top, supporters shouting for both sides and changing allegiance throughout the match. Hugely entertaining with a final score of 49 - 51 to the Penguins. The club house following the match was a great warm up for the evening ahead. The evening included the announcement of the Simon Lau Pancreatic Cancer Research A

GKTWRFC Auction & Mixer events
Thanks to Sanna, GKTWRC President, for letting us know about two recent events to raise funds for PAC. Over the years a variety of GKTWRFC merchandise had accumulated in our stores. Therefore, we thought it would be a great opportunity to raise money for PAC by holding an auction for these items. We sold a variety of brand new pieces of clothing including old tour T shirts, jackets, jumpers and shorts. In total we raised £184 with our highest bid and most contested for item b

There is nothing—absolutely nothing—half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
PAC Thames Skiff Rowing and Thames Path Waddle 15th– 20th June 2025 Four Aquanauts, three walkers and a dog met early, in bright sunshine, a mile north of Moulsford at the Cholsey slipway on the North Bank of the Thames. Tom the Boatman gave his standard in depth briefing with lots of skiff dos and don'ts; Tony in particular paid rapt attention. Soon after we loaded our supplies (largely a cool box of drinks and multiple packets of pork scratchings) and began rowing. The Wa

WYE WYE WYE DELILAH 2-6 JUNE 2025
Eight fossilising Penguins, with a combined age of 500, visited the beautiful Wye valley for a few days of walking, canoeing, bar games, impromptu singing, japes and buffoonery, and to celebrate Pat Davis’s entry into his 7 th decade. We were housed in a very pleasant converted chapel in Crickhowell ( from Crug Hywel ‘Hywel’s Mound’, possibly related to the nearby Iron Age hillfort on Table Mountain, and even more implausibly to Table Mountain in Cape Town ) the historic ca
