Grants Total £690,000

The latest £5,000 grant to Melanoma Focus takes the total of grants disbursed to £690,000.

We are deeply touched by the inspiration behind this generous gift. Please extend our warmest thanks to Robin and Peter for proposing the grant, and to Mark for allowing his experience to inspire such meaningful support. We wish Mark and his loved ones strength, and it is a privilege to know that your contribution honours him in this way.

The story of the Penguin Peloton and their remarkable fundraising efforts—from Guy’s Hospital to Brittany and Normandy and back—is truly extraordinary. Please extend our appreciation to all 43 riders, whose dedication and spirit exemplify the very best of community-driven support. Their achievement will have a real impact on the lives of melanoma patients and their families.

This grant will be used to directly support melanoma research, helping to advance our understanding of the disease, raise awareness and improve treatment options for those affected. We are planning to do a call for research proposals in the next couple of months, so your wonderful donation will be restricted to this. We normally give up to £20k (we have given more) for each project, and we have a scientific committee who review each proposal to ensure that all research undertaken is of high quality and ultimately will have benefits to the melanoma community and preventing future cases.
