Red Trouser Day - Penguins Against Cancer:

Simon Bunting Colorectal Cancer Research Award

A clue is in the title, this year there are two awards as the research committees determined that two projects should be supported. Both charities were in agreement and able to joint finance the two £10,000 grants.

Congratulations to our successful applicants:

Mr Mohamed Thaha, Queen Mary University of London

National Bowel Research Centre

Circulating Molecular Biomarkers for the Early Detection of Colorectal Cancer

Dr Chanthirika Ragulan, Institute of Cancer Research

Identifying Pre-adapted Aggressive Colorectal Cancer at Stage I: A Multimodal Biomarker Feasibility Study from Routine Diagnostic Tissue

Charlie Beardmore, President of Penguins Against Cancer noted “We are delighted to be collaborating with our friends at the Red Trouser Day charity to jointly fund the RTD - PAC Simon Bunting Colorectal Cancer Research Award. It is vital that such research is appropriately resourced.”

Paul Finch, Founder and Chair of Red Trouser Day, commented; “This is exactly the sort of innovative project we wish to support in the pursuit of earlier diagnosis of this dreadful disease.”

PAC and RTD look forward to receiving progress reports and wish both projects every success.
